School of Computational and Integrative Sciences
School of Computational and Integrative Sciences (earlier School of Information Technology) which was established in the University in 2001, presently consists of the Centre for Computational Biology and Bio-Informatics (CCBB) (previously known as BioInformatics Centre (BIC)) and the High Performing Computing Center (HPCC). The focus of the School is on the use of information technology on education and research. The emphasis of the school is on the study of how the increased availability of information in all spheres of enquiry, be it biological, physical, geological, economics, etc. can be most effectively utilized in an academic context. The Centres (CCBB and CC/HPCC) were existing as independent bodies in the University prior to the formation of the School.
