Originally announced during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase, Ninja Gaiden 4 is already shaping up to be one of the most intense and visually stunning entries in the franchise by far. Following the Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Ninja Gaiden 2, the newest sequel seems to have already learned from its predecessor by raising the bar on what to expect from the franchise moving forward.
Being the first original mainline entry to the franchise in over a decade, Ninja Gaiden 4 and its massive return to form will have a lot of expectations to live up to when it releases later this month. Despite the long hiatus, Ninja Gaiden 4 brings back the high-octane action of the past in its entirety while not being afraid to test your skills with its challenging difficulty.

Taking place in a dystopian Tokyo being ravaged by a curse of darkness and destruction, Ninja Gaiden 4 will feature a brand-new protagonist named Yakumo and will still follow the events of its predecessor, despite the iconic hack-and-slash series' long hiatus. Even if Yakumo is the new focus of Ninja Gaiden 4, its developers have stated that the previous Ryu Hayabusa will still be a key part of the game's storyline.
All Additional Content And Details For Ninja Gaiden 4's Release
Even if Ninja Gaiden 2's remake faced some controversy over players still preferring the original game, Ninja Gaiden 4 is taking full advantage of its new hardware potential to push the series to its absolute limits, both in terms of gameplay and the raw visual spectacle of hacking apart cyborgs and supernatural enemies in stylish droves.
If you already have plans to hop into Ninja Gaiden 4's grim world on or soon after release, pre-ordering the game will grant you the "Dark Dragon Descendant Yakumo Skin" in addition to the already available in-game customization options.
To get more out of Ninja Gaiden 4's stylish combat with an additional weapon and some shiny new skins right off the bat, purchasing the Deluxe Edition will grant the following rewards in addition to the base game:

- Traditional Dark Blue and Legendary Black Falcon Ryu Skins
- Blade of the Archfiend Ryu Weapon Skin
- Divine Chimera and Raven Master Yakumo Skins
