MCU Spider-Man Fighting Venom Could Happen Twice In 2 Years (We Need That)

Venom and Spider-Man have yet to fight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the door is now open for that to happen in two very different Marvel projects in the next couple of years. Ever since Tom Hardy was cast as Venom, fans have been asking for his character to fight Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the MCU's Spider-Man movies.

While Hardy did appear in a cameo role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, he never met Holland's Spider-Man. Then came Venom: The Last Dance, which killed the title character. However, Venom and Spider-Man could still fight in future Marvel projects, with a confirmed brawl in animation and a possible meeting in live-action, using Marvel Studios' multiverse projects to their fullest.

Spider-Man And Venom Will Fight In 2026

2026 is confirmed to feature at least one version of Venom and Spider-Man fighting. That will happen in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2. The animated series sees Hudson Thames voice Peter Parker, with that version of the character living in what appears to be an alternate take on the MCU. Key elements from the franchise are mentioned or changed for the show.

As such, the series features an MCU Spider-Man variant. This means fans will finally get the closest they have ever gotten to the MCU Spider-Man fighting Venom in 2026. At this time, Marvel has yet to confirm who will voice Venom in the show, as well as which character will be the symbiote's host.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Could Fight Venom In 2027

While Spider-Man and Venom will be fighting in animation in 2026, MCU fans might finally get their wish of seeing Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Tom Hardy's Venom battle in 2027. In Marvel Comics, Spider-Man first donned the symbiote suit in Secret Wars. As such, I believe that 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars could do the same for Holland's Peter Parker.

With Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom unleashing multiversal mayhem, Spider-Man will need all the power he can get. The symbiote suit would definitely make him stronger to take on the villain and any other multiversal threats. Given that a piece of Venom stayed behind in the MCU, that plot point has to return in the future, and it makes sense here.

Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock thinks Venom is dead. If Holland's Spider-Man bonds with the symbiote, it could be enough to awaken their connection. Given that Avengers: Secret Wars is the finale of the MCU's Multiverse Saga, having Hardy return so that Eddie and Venom are reunited and fight Spider-Man would be an epic event that fits the movie, ensuring two Spider-Man vs Venom battles in two years.
