- 액정 표시 장치에 있어서,능동 소자를 포함하며 매트릭스 형태로 배치된 화소들과 상기 화소들의 열에 접속된 신호선을 갖는 화소부; 및상기 액정 표시 장치의 전원 차단 상태의 타입에 따라 제1 전원 차단 모드와 제2 전원 차단 모드 중 한 모드를 선택하는 선택 수단을 포함하고,상기 제1 전원 차단 모드에서는, 전원 차단시에, 우선 상기 화소부의 화소들이 행 단위로 순차적으로 선택되면서 상기 화소들 모두에 백 레벨(white level) 신호 또는 흑 레벨(black level) 신호가 기입되고;상기 제2 전원 차단 모드에서는, 전원 차단시에, 상기 화소부의 화소들 모두에 대하여 상기 능동 소자를 스위치 온하고, 상기 신호선 모두를 상기 화소들의 공통 전극 전위와 동일한 전위가 되도록 설정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 전원 오프(OFF) 버튼과 배터리 전원을 더 포함하고,상기 선택 수단은 상기 전원 오프 버튼의 조작에 기인하는 전원 차단시에는 상기 제l 전원 차단 모드를 선택하고, 상기 배터리 전원이 제거되는 것에 의한 전원 차단시에는 상기 제2 전원 차단 모드를 선택하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.

- 능동 소자를 포함하며 매트릭스 형태로 배치된 화소들, 상기 화소들의 열에 접속된 신호선, 전원 오프 버튼 및 배터리 전원을 갖는 액정 표시 장치를 제어하기 위한 방법에 있어서,상기 전원 오프 버튼의 조작에 기인하는 전원 차단시에는, 우선 상기 화소들을 순차적으로 선택하면서 상기 화소들 모두에 백 레벨 신호 또는 흑 레벨 신호를 기입하고;상기 배터리 전원이 제거된 것에 기인하는 전원 차단시에는, 상기 화소들 모두에 대하여 상기 능동 소자를 스위치 온하고, 상기 신호선 모두를 상기 화소들의 공통 전극 전위와 동일한 전위가 되도록 설정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치의 제어 방법.
