The embracing of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for record management practice... more The embracing of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for record management practices in the 21 st public services organizations cannot be disregarded due to the over changing nature of functioning day to day activities. Hence, this QUANTI-QUALI research paper aimed to sightsee on the nexus between technological infrastructure and E-records management in public services organizations of Tanzania especially at TFS of Manyoni District Council. The study adopted Social Determinism and Socio-technical systems theories to show its correlation with the relationship between technological facilities to electronic records management. The study adopted a mixed-methods investigation approach combining quantitative surveys administered to Twenty-three (23) structured questionnaires and qualitative interviews to conduct in-depth interviews with Five (5) key stakeholders to gain insights for discussion and conclusion of the study. Statistical Analyses for quantitative data including descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages to prepare a tables, charts and figures were utilized while Content Analyses for qualitative data including thematic analysis by examining the collected data to identify trends, connections and relationship of Technological facilities and electronic records management. The results show that technological infrastructures such as Compact Disk Read Only Memory (CD-ROMS),Computer and Mobile Phones, Computerized Data Base, Internet and Software Applications, USB drive, External Hard Disk Drive and Memory Cards absolutely impacts the effectiveness of e-records management systems and practices by prompting accessibility, security, scalability and compliance to records and regulatory frameworks; technological facilities enables effectively and efficiency storage, retrieval and quickly sharing of records and robust security measures for safeguarding sensitive records. Nevertheless, the results demonstrate that, TFS experience shortage of technological facilities and technological obsolescence such as system failure. This research paper recommends there should impart skills on the effective use of modern technological tools (ICTs) for successful E-records management by providing regular education and special trainings to all staffs on the proper use and management of ICTs for managing records within an organization.
