Hi Milan, Thanks for your interest, though I recommend discussing in the Slack channel
Ideally, you'll first try to deploy, configure, and start one DBMS instance, and find out how to automate it. Next, you can proceed to design a suite of automated scripts along with the necessary specifications.
No. There are no strict requirements for this project. |

Hi @suyZhong ,
I hope you're doing well. My name is Milan P Samuel, and I am deeply passionate about technology and open-source contributions. I came across the "Supporting Automated Scripts for DBMS Deployment" project in SQLancer for GSoC 2025, and I am very interested in contributing.
I have experience with Linux, Bash scripting, Docker, and databases (mainly MySQL). Additionally, I have previously participated in open-source programs like GSSoC and Summer of Bitcoin. However, this would be my first time applying for GSoC, and I want to ensure I approach this correctly.
I would love to know:
What are the exact steps I should follow to contribute effectively to this task?
Are there specific DBMSs that should be prioritized for automation?
Should the automation be strictly Docker-based, or are other deployment methods also expected?
Are there any additional configurations or edge cases that I should consider?
I am eager to learn and contribute meaningfully to this project. Looking forward to your guidance on how to proceed.
Best regards,
Milan P Samuel
