Use case

OverlayPortal.overlayChildLayoutBuilder was recently landed, and it has proven useful for implementing animated nested menus (this is a huge understatement. I had written a gigantic follower chain layer that worked but was painfully complex. This will save me many hours). However, AFAIK, there is no option to target the root overlay.

Proposal

Allow developers to choose which overlay to target.
