What happened?

try run VM as usual, got error

VirtualBox can't enable the AMD-V extension. Please disable the KVM kernel extension, recompile your kernel and reboot (VERR_SVM_IN_USE).

on old kernel 6.11 all ok:

How can we reproduce this?

  1. install ubuntu 24.04 latest
  2. install latest kernel by sudo apt install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-24.04
  3. install virtualbox from site(version was 7.1.12) or repo(version was 7.1.10)
  4. run any guest os vm
  5. got error
