This next bit of news might have The Parent Trap fans jumping around more than Meredith Blake with a lizard on her face.

As Parent Trap stars Elaine Hendrix and Lisa Ann Walter walked the 2025 Emmys red carpet together on Sunday evening, the latter made a big reveal on potential developments surrounding a long-awaited sequel to the 1998 Disney classic, in which they starred opposite Lindsay Lohan.

When Entertainment Weekly asked Walter if Lohan's recent box office success with her Freaky Friday sequel had revived "other conversations" with the studio about a Parent Trap continuation, Abbott Elementary actress Walter asked, "I mean, are you listening, Disney?"

Hendrix added that "A lot of people talk about it, a lot of people want it," confirming that the cast is "totally game, we're just, I think we're all just waiting, you know?"

After EW pointed out that Freakier Friday was made because, as Jamie Lee Curtis said in our cover story about the sequel, she directly called the studio to express interest, Walter gave another exciting tease about the state of a potential Parent Trap sequel.

"I think Lindsay may have already done that," she said, before Hendrix jumped in to say, "But we can neither confirm nor deny" — a sentiment Walter then echoed.

EW has reached out to representatives for Disney and Lohan for comment.

In a prior interview with EW about reteaming with Lohan for a cameo in Freakier Friday, Hendrix spoke about a Parent Trap sequel.

"There are always rumors. I don’t know where they come from. I think it's mostly [from] fans who would love to see that," Hendrix said when asked about plans for a potential continuation to the film, which saw Lohan play dual roles as twins Hallie and Annie as they grappled with their loving father's (Dennis Quaid) impending marriage to Hendrix's snooty Meredith.

Hendrix added that she'd "be so crushed" if she wasn't part of a sequel, and that "hands down, in the right situation" she'd join a second film if the studio asked — despite, as she posed, "How would you bring Meredith Blake back into the sequel?" after Quaid's character broke up with her in the prior film.

Lohan recently saw major success in partnering with Curtis to produce Freakier Friday 22 years after working together on Freaky Friday. To date, the sequel has earned positive reviews on top of grossing nearly $150 million at the global box office, on a reported budget of around $45 million.
