Plot
Multiplayer for indie web games. Four lines of code, sub-second globally, from your first player to your hundred-thousandth.
What Plot is
Plot is a managed multiplayer backend for indie web games. You write your game logic as a small server-side handler; Plot runs it at the edge on Cloudflare Durable Objects, one per room, nearest your players. The JavaScript SDK connects in four lines, and the same wire protocol drives the Unity, Godot, Defold, and Unreal SDKs.
- Authoritative or relay — Start with plain message relay, or define a
server-authoritative room with
defineRoom—onJoin/onMessage/onTickrunning on the server. - Persistence built in — Player profiles, leaderboards, save slots, and
replay capture — backed by D1 and R2, exposed through
ctx.profile/ctx.leaderboard/ctx.save. - Smooth by default — Snapshot interpolation, client-side prediction with reconciliation, and server-side lag compensation — in the JS client and every engine SDK.
- Edge-native — One Durable Object per room. No regions to pick, no servers to provision. p99 broadcast under 50 ms in-region.
Where to go next
- Quickstart — a working multiplayer room in a few minutes.
- Authoritative handlers — move game logic to the server with
defineRoom. - Engine SDKs — Unity, Godot, Defold, and Unreal.
